Khelang Nakhon Opens Renewable Energy Leading Green City
On June 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM, Mr. Paitoon Photong, Mayor of Khelang Nakhon Town Municipality, participated over the official opening ceremony of the renewable energy management project featuring a solar-powered energy power generation system (Solar Carpark)
The event was attended by the working team from Papop Solar Co., Ltd. led by Ms. Wanvichit Phanomchoeng, Managing Director, along with municipal executives, municipal council members, heads of government departments, and Mr. Kraiphet Pinfan, a member of the Lampang Provincial Administrative Organization Council. The ceremony took place at the Khelang Nakhon Town Municipality Office.
Mr. Paitoon Photong, Mayor of Khelang Nakhon, emphasized the importance of efficient electricity usage within municipal buildings. As a result, he has initiated the integration of renewable and alternative energy sources throughout the organization, including public areas within the municipal compound, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and aligns with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, particularly in the Green Economy aspect. It also seeks to raise environmental awareness among staff and local residents, encouraging active participation in sustainable development.
Mayor Paitoon also stated that this project is part of his administrations policy agenda, which was presented to the Khelang Nakhon Municipal Council on June 30, 2025.
This project is the result of a collaborative effort between Khelang Nakhon Town Municipality and Papop Solar Co., Ltd. based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on February 13, 2025. Installation of the system commenced on April 26 and was completed by June 16, 2025.
To ensure the optimal and long-term operation of the solar power system, Papop Solar Co., Ltd. conducted a training session on July 7, 2025, for municipal staff. The training covered system management, monitoring, and maintenance procedures to equip the staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate the system effectively and sustainably.
